Mary Carol Academy was built upon more than two decades of experience in early childhood education, curriculum development, classroom instruction, and preschool leadership.
Our proven approach combines quality care, purposeful instruction, character development, and meaningful family partnerships. We are proud to bring this trusted educational model to Long Beach and welcome every child into the MC Academy family.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a nurturing, curriculum-focused preschool experience that develops confident learners, strong character, and the foundational skills children need for elementary school and beyond.
Teacher-Directed Learning
MC Academy is a teacher-directed program. Our teachers intentionally plan and lead lessons based on each class’s developmental level and learning goals.
Children still explore, create, move, and play—but every activity has a purpose. Teachers model new skills, ask meaningful questions, guide practice, observe progress, and provide support until children gain confidence and mastery.

Led with Experience and Purpose
Pastor Akilah Bailey brings more than 25 years of experience in early childhood education, including classroom teaching, curriculum development, preschool leadership, & program administration.
Her vision for MC Academy is to create a school where children receive excellent instruction, families feel supported, teachers have the guidance and resources needed to lead with confidence.
